Amazon Echo Show with 7-inch touchscreen display and Alexa costs $229.99
U.S retailing giant, Amazon has announced the launch of its new voice-controlled smart speaker – the Amazon Echo Show, with a touchscreen display. The speaker which comes after the launch of the first Echo built-in camera, comes with the ability to make and receive video calls via the front 5MP camera.
Available in Black and White colours, the Amazon Echo Show is priced at $229.99 and like the other Echo family of devices, it is powered by the Alexa smart assistant. It includes an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 processor, 2x Dolby speakers and 8 microphones. It measures 187 x 187 x 90 mm and weighs 1.17 grams in size.

In addition to having the same capabilities as the regular Echo such as asking and getting responses from Alexa, and listening to music, the Show’s built-in screen adds more functionality such as watching video flash briefings, streaming content from Youtube or Amazon Video, see music lyrics, and more.
One of the key features of Amazon’s Echo Show is the addition of Alexa Calling and Messaging. With this feature, the user can make free calls (video and voice) as well as send messages on existing Echo devices and compatible smartphones with Alexa App. The ‘Drop In’ feature is another new feature which allows the user connect instantly with closest family and friends.
Pre-orders are underway for the Amazon Echo Show and it is expected to start shipping in the U.S starting June 28th.
