Coolpad Modena 2 with 4G VoLTE Lands in Europe
Chinese company, Coolpad has announced a new mid-range smartphone called the Coolpad Modena 2 in Europe. The 4G VoLTE device is the successor to last year’s Coolpad Modena and bears some semblance with the Coolpad Mega 2.5D which launched recently in India.
Sporting a plastic body build with metal frames and special 3D laser carving technology; the Coolpad Modena 2 sports a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) screen resolution, 267 ppi pixel density, 73% screen-to-body ratio, anti-fingerprint coating and 2.5D curved glass.
On the inside, it is powered by a quad-core Mediatek MT6735P processor clocked at 1.0GHz coupled with Mali-T720MP2 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD. It has Hybrid Dual SIM slots and boots Android Marshmallow OS with Cool UI 8.0.
Photography is handled by a rear facing 8MP AF camera with Sony IMX219 sensor, LED flash and 720p HD recording, along with a front facing 8MP wide angle camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video chats. Some of the camera software features include Professional mode, Night mode, Beauty mode, face detection, sound&shoot, GIF and Panorama.
The Coolpad Modena 2 measures 154.5 x 76.5 x 7.85 mm in dimensions, weighs in at 143 grams, supports 4G LTE (Cat.4) with VoLTE and is backed by a 2500mAh battery which should last up to 4 hours of talk time and 180 hours on standby. It is available on Amazon DE for EUR 179 (USD 200), in Gold and Grey colours.
