Cubot X15: 5.5-inch FHD, 2GB RAM, 4G LTE and Android 5.1
Cubot has just recently announced the Cubot X15, a decent midrange smartphone with understandable premium look. The device is available unlocked for a sub-$170 price tag in Gold and White colour options.
The Cubot X15 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) FHD IPS-Neo OGS display with a pixel density of 425ppi, 90% NTSC high saturation, 1500:1 contrast ratio and 178-degree viewing angle. The smartphone has a combination of Aircraft grade aluminium alloy and Glass body build (2.5D Gorilla Glass Protection) with anti-fingerprint coasting.
Under the hood, the X15 is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek MT6735A processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Mali-720 GPU with 2GB RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot onboard for expansion up to 32GB.
The camera department also impresses to with a front facing 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and a rear facing 16MP camera with f/2.0 camera with 5P Blue membrane lens, super bright LED flash which makes it a fav for low light conditions.
Connectivity options on the Cubot X15 includes – Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, USB OTG, 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4 – up to 150Mbps), and there is also HotKnot onboard. The Dual-SIM enabled smartphones supports 4G in both SIMs and sports the following network bands – GSM – 850/900/1800/1900 MHz; WCDMA – 900/1900/2100 MHz; FDD-LTE Band 1/3/7/20.
Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and backed by a 2750mAh battery, the Cubot X15 measures 153 x 76 x 6.9mm in dimensions, weighs 150 grams and asides HotKnot, it also has Air Wake and SmartWake gestures.
By drawing ‘M’ on the screen will launch the Music app, ‘C’ will launch the dailer, ‘E’ to wake up browser, Slide up to unlock, slide downwards to take photographs and Horizontal slide to next the playing music. All these happen when the screen is in standby mode.
