Entry-Level Lenovo Chromebook 100S will arrive in October
Lenovo are not really known for their Chromebooks, the company announced the Lenovo Chromebook 100S at the IFA 2015 event – the lower-end Chromebook is the company’s most affordable Chromebook ever. It will arrive in October for a starting price of $179 for the base model.
The Lenovo Chromebook 100S boasts of an impressive battery life of 8 hours, has a 11.6-inch (1366 x 768 pixels) HD display, up to Intel Celeron N2840 processor, up to 4GB of RAM and up to 32GB internal storage space. Users also qualify to get free 100GB free Google Drive cloud storage for two years.
As expected, it runs Chrome OS which can only be found on Chromebooks and doesn’t support cellular connectivity. Connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, one USB 2.0 port, one USB 3.0 port, HDMI video output, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, 4-in-1 Combo jack and Audio Combo jack.
The Lenovo Chromebook measures 19.9mm in thickness (full dimensions – 300 x 209 x 19.9mm), weighs 1.2 Kilograms, has Dual Digital Microphones and a front facing 1MP HD Camera.
Chromebooks and Chrome OS products are a rare phenomenon in mainstream African market including that of Nigeria, so it is no surprise companies are focusing on developed markets which have embraced them.
