Both the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus will retain their respective 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch Super AMOLED ‘Infinity’ displays, and while the front panel remains the same, the rear panel has been slightly tweaked. Also, the fingerprint sensor has been placed centrally below the rear camera.
Talking about cameras, the S9 has a single 12MP primary rear camera with f/1.5 aperture while the S9 Plus packs a second 12MP camera with f/2.4 aperture for potrait photos and 2x optical zoom. The front camera remains unchanged at 8MP camera with an F1.7 aperture.
Globally, both devices are expected to be powered by the much faster Exynos 9810 processor while the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 will power them in North America markets. The S9 packs 4GB of RAM and 3,000mAh battery while the S9 Plus has 6GB of RAM and 3,500mAh battery.
Both devices have microSD card slots, 3.5mm audio jacks, AKG-tuned dual stereo speakers and are IP68-certified (dust and water resistance). The duo come pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo OS with the new Samsung Experience on top and supports both fast charging and wireless.
The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus also have upgraded sensors to combine iris and facial recognition for secure and accurate facial unlocks. The duo will arrive in Coral Blue, Lilac Purple, Midnight Black and Titanium Gray colours.
