Google Trips Travel and Vacation Planning App
Following the mainstream launch of Allo, Google is strengthening its hold in online travel services with a new ‘personalised tour guide’ app, called Google Trips or just ‘Trips’ for short.
Aimed at the wider travel audience and geared to act like a 24/7 pocket-sized travel agent, Google Trips allows the users organize and plan trips, itineraries and more based on the travel reservations gathered from Gmail and personalised recommendations from the user’s search history and location.
User will be able to make flight and hotel bookings, car rentals and restaurant reservations and other categories of information such as day plans, things to do, food and drinks, getting around, places to see and more, to over 200 travel destinations of the world. All these and more can be done and modified based on preference and time constraints.
The app also works offline without Wi-Fi or Data connectivity, and automatically gathers data directly from Gmail and Maps, organising them into a travel schedule. Without a Gmail account, the app functions fine but the tailored personalisation features will be absent.
