Huawei has announced the follow-up to the mid-range classed Honor 5X smartphone at an event in China. The Huawei Honor 6X has an interesting Dual Rear camera setup – 12MP main camera with PDAF and LED flash + a 2MP camera for realising background blur and field of depth.
The metal-clad Honor 6X sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with 2.5D curved glass covering and boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with the company’s EMUI 4.1 ontop. It relies on an octa-core Kirin 655 processor with Mali-T830 MP2 GPU and the option of 3GB or 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM.
Meanwhile, biometric security performance is ensured by a rear placed fingerprint sensor (0.3s unlock time) and the front camera is a 8MP snapper for selfies and video chats. Internal storage space is either 32GB or 64GB (eMMC 5.1) depending on the model; both options are expandable via microSD.
Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth 4.1. The Huawei Honor 6X is available in Blue, Gold, Grey, Rose Gold and Silver colours for a price starting at CNY 999 ($148) for the 3GB/32GB model. The 4GB/32GB model costs CNY 1299 ($192) while the 4GB/64GB model costs CNY 1599 ($237).
