Huawei announce Honor 8 Pro with 6GB RAM, Ultra slim Design
Huawei’s new HONOR series smartphone – the Honor 8 Pro has gone official in Europe. With a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, the high-end smartphone slots in ahead of the Honor 8 and share a numbers of specs and features with the Honor V9 in China.
The Honor 8 Pro packs Huawei’s updated octa-core Kirin 960 processor clocked at 2.4GHz with Mali G71 GPU, Dual SIM, 6GB of RAM, 64GB built-in storage (expandable up to 128GB), front facing 8MP camera, Android 7.0 Nougat OS with EMUI 5.1, USB Type-C port and a long lasting 4000mAh battery.
Sans the Leica branding, the rear Dual 12MP camera arrangement is same as the Honor 8. One of the cameras captures in RGB and the other in monochrome. Unlike the P10 & P10 Plus, the device has a bigger display (5.7-inch vs 5.1/5.5-inch) and the fingerprint sensor (rear placed) also doubles as a programmable button. The Leica branding is also absent.
The package box for the Honor 8 Pro can be converted into a Google Cardboard viewer for VR. It is priced at £474.99 ($591) in the Europe (UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Switzerland) and pre-orders open today in the UK. While it will begin shipping on April 20th via Amazon, there is no word on availability in other regions.
Midnight Black, Navy Blue and Platinum Gold are the obtainable colour options.
