Huawei has debuted two new smartphones in the Honor series in China. The high-end Honor V9 and mid-tier Honor 8 Lite. Both smartphones comes pre-loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat OS with the latest EMUI 5.0 ontop, fingerprint sensor (rear placed) and Hybrid Dual SIM slots (nano + nano/microSD).
Huawei Honor V9
Starting with the Honor V9; it has a 5.7-inch QHD display with 2.5D curved glass, octa-core Kirin 960 processor, Mali G71 Octa-Core GPU, 4GB or 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB built-in expandable storage space. For photography, there are Dual 12MP cameras with Laser AF, Dual Tone flash and f/2.2 aperture; alongside a front facing 8MP selfie camera.
Backed by a 4000mAh battery with fast charging, the V9 has support for 4G LTE networks as well as Voice over LTE (VoLTE). It measures 6.97mm thick, weighs in at 184 grams and charges via the USB 2.0 Type-C Port.
Huawei Honor 8 Lite
The Honor 8 Lite is a toned down model of the Honor 8
and was recently spotted on sale in Europe (Finland). It has a 5.2-inch Full HD display with 2.5D Curved glass, an Octa-core Kirin 655 processor, 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB built-in storage. It has a single camera setup – a 12MP snapper with PDAF, 1.25μm pixel size, alongside a front facing 8MP selfie camera.
It has a metal body frame with glass covering and is backed by a 3000mAh. Connectivity options are similar with the Honor V9 with the exception of the USB-C port.
Pricing and Availability
The Honor V9 is available in Aurora Blue, Flame Red, Midnight Black and Platinum Gold colours. It is already on pre-order in China and will go on sale on February 28th.
