Huawei P8 Lite 2017 Debuts with FHD Display and Android Nougat
It is not the MWC 2017 yet but Huawei is already in the release mood. The Chinese company has announced the Europe-bound Huawei P8 Lite 2017 as a follow up to the Huawei P8 Lite released in 2015 and even has better specs compared to the Huawei P9 Lite released last year.
The Huawei P8 Lite 2017 shares a similar body design with the company’s Honor Series devices (i.e a metal body frame and glossy shell) and boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS with EMUI 5.0. It packs a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display with 2.5D Curved glass and 3000mAh battery (non-removable).
Underneath the hood, the device relies on an octa-core Kirin 655 processor paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB built-in storage space. It has a rear placed fingerprint sensor, supports 4G LTE networks and depending on the launch market, either Single or Dual SIMs option will be available.
For imaging, the Huawei P8 Lite 2017 has a rear facing 12MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, alongside a front facing 8MP camera for selfies. Available in Black, Gold & White colours, the device starts at EUR 239 (USD 254) for the 3GB model and rollout begins by the end of January.
There are some reports that the P8 Lite 2017 will launch as the P9 Lite 2017 in some markets including Latin America. Huawei is also expected to announce the P10 Lite as part of the high-end P10 and P10 Plus expected to debut at the MWC 2017.
