LG Electronics has announced its eagerly awaited third V series flagship smartphone – the LG V30 at the IFA 2017 in Berlin. The V30 improves on the strengths of the LG V10 and LG V20, in providing a whole new mobile experience and offering optimal multimedia features.
The LG V30 sports a metal body frame, large 6-inch 18:9 OLED FullVision display with 1440 × 2880 pixels (QHD+) screen resolution and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on the front and back. The body is IP68 certified (water and dust resistance) and has passed 14 categories of the MIL-STD 810G Transit Drop Test.
For photography, the device has an advanced dual rear camera module: a primary 16MP standard angle camera with f/1.6 crystal clear lens and secondary 13MP camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens. The main camera is supported by Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) and Hybrid Auto Focus that combines both Laser Detection Auto Focus and Phase Detection Auto Focus.
It is also equipped with powerful camera (photo and video) features such as Cine Video mode and Manual Mode (with Graphy), Google Assistant and B&O PLAY sound tuned Hi-Fi Quad DAC. The second screen on past V series smartphones has evolved into a new Always-on Display (AOD) feature and Floating Bar.
Powered by the high-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, the LG V30 packs 4GB of RAM, either 64GB (V30) or 128GB (V30+) UFS 2.0 storage, and supports Daydream. It boots Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS with LG UX 6.0+ and depends on a 3,300mAh battery with Fast and Wireless charging. It also uses four security modes: Face Recognition, Voice Recognition, Fingerprint Sensor and Knock Code.
The LG V30 (64GB storage) will come in Aurora Black, Cloud Silver, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet colours and will go on sale in South Korea starting on September 21. Other key markets in North America, Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East will get the device afterwards. The LG V30+ (128GB storage) will available in limited markets.
