Meizu Box Flyme-Powered Android TV Box with Bluetooth Voice Remote
Several hours ago, at the launch of the Meizu M5, the Chinese firm also announced an Android TV Box, rightfully named Meizu Box. It basically brings smart features to the regular TV, boots Flyme TV based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and comes with a Bluetooth remote control with voice search support.
The Meizu Box supports 4K decoding like Xiaomi’s Mi Box and can access Youku, Sohu, PPTV and other popular streaming services in China. It has an unorthodox triangle shape with rounded edges while the Meizu Logo (M) adorns the top. The rear showcases the ports – Ethernet, 1 x USB, HDMI out and Power.
Hardware specs on-board include – a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 2GHz, Mali-450 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. It also has an accompanying Android app for control and arrives in Black or White colour options for CNY 299 (~ US$ 45).
Another device which also made an appearance at the launch was the Meizu H1 Smart Band. The fitness tracking bracelet sports an OLED display and is equipped with a heart sensor. It is also dustproof and water proof, and priced at CNY 499 (US$ 74).
