Huawei has officially announced the not-so discreet Huawei Honor 5X smartphone in China. The phablet sized midrange device is the successor to to the Huawei Honor 4X; it packs some decent specs conserving the price and will come in two RAM variants – 2GB RAM and 3GB RAM.
Moving to the specs, the Huawei Honor 5X sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS LCD display, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor with Adreno 405 GPU, 16GB space of internal storage and for additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion.
In the camera segment, the Honor 5X has a 13MP main camera with Dual LED flash, a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and a fingerprint sensor located just below the main camera built with Huawei’s latest tech that allows the user unlock the device in less than 1 second (0.4s).
Measuring 143.1 mm x 71.8 mm x 9.7 mm and weighing 159 grams in size, the Huawei Honor 5X has Dual SIM slots with Dual Standby Mode & 4G LTE in both SIMS, runs Android Lollipop OS with EMUI ontop and is backed by a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.
In terms of pricing, the 2GB RAM variant costs $157 (CNY 999) while the 3GB RAM variant costs $220 (CNY 1,399).
