After months of rumours, Lenovo has officially announced the Motorola Moto M smartphone in China as expected. The 5.5-inch mid-range smartphone will go on sale on November 11 (Singles Day – Alibaba’s Global Shopping Event) in the home country and is currently listed for CNY 1999 (US$ 295).
Like most recent smartphones released, the Motorola Moto M has a full metal body and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box. It sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display, measures 7.85 mm thick and backed by a 3050mAh battery with fast charging.
Smeared with water repellent nano-coating, the device relies on a 64-bit octa-core Mediatek Helio P15 (MT6755) processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space, expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card. It has Dual SIM slots, Dolby Atmos sound and a rear placed fingerprint sensor.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 16MP camera with 6-element lens, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and dual-tone LED flash alongside a front facing 8MP snapper with 85-degrees wide angle lens for selfies. The Moto M uses the USB Type-C port and supports 4G LTE networks with VoLTE.
