MWC 2016: BQ Aquaris X5 Plus goes official with a Snapdragon 652 SoC and a 3100 mAh battery
Spanish based device maker, BQ has announced a new smartphone in the Aquaris Series – the BQ Aquaris X5 Plus (BQ Aquaris X5 Extra) at the MWC 2016. The Aquaris X5 Plus is an upgraded version of the Aquaris X5 released last year and is the first device from the company to have a fingerprint sensor.
Running Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS, the BQ Aquaris X5 Plus retains the same design on the Aquaris X5 but the specs has been upgraded. It relies on the Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 MSM8976 processor clocked at 1.8GHz with Adreno 510 GPU and either 2GB or 3GB of RAM.
Internal storage options available are 16GB, 32GB or 64GB options, and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The device has a Dual Nano SIM slots, derieves energy from a 3100mAh battery and sports a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD LTPS display with Quantum Color+ tech, 80% NTSC color space and Dinorex glass protection.
For photography, there is a front facing 8MP Sony IMX219 camera with f/2.0 aperture and a rear facing 16MP Sony IMX298 camera with Dual Tone flash, 4K Video recording, Phase Detection AutoFocus (PDAF) & f/2.0 aperture. Connectivity options includes – 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, GPS and GLONASS.
The BQ Aquaris X5 Plus has a smart PA system and will arrive in Black with Grey Anthracite, White with Silver and White with Pink Gold colour option. Pricing details is yet unknown.
