Nokia (HMD Global) made a splash on its return at the MWC 2017 with the launch of three new Android OS smartphones – the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. As expected, the trio all boot Android Nougat and come in 5-, 5.2- and 5.5-inch screen resolutions. The front 8MP camera and support for 4G LTE networks is another they all have in common. The Nokia 3 is a budget offering with a quad-core Mediatek processor, front and rear 8MP cameras and a poly carbonate body. It is priced starting at EUR 139 (US$ 146) and expected to go on sale globally from Q2 2017.
The Nokia 5 stays in between and shares similar specs with the Nokia 3 and 6. It has a metal body build but shares the design of past Lumia smartphones and antenna lines have been moved to the top and bottom. It features a fingerprint sensor, NFC chip and available in both single SIM and dual SIM variant.. Pricing starts at EUR 189 (US$ 200) and go on sale globally by Q2 2017.
Already available in China, the Nokia 6 is the first from the HMD Global. It retains the same build and specs as the Chinese version and the fingerprint sensor is embedded into the home button. It also has Dual Speakers (top and bottom) and smart dual amplifier chips (TFA9891). Pricing start at EUR 229 (US$ 241) and will be available around the same time as the Nokia 3 and 5. The Nokia 6 Special Edition (4GB RAM, 64GB storage, Arte Black color) costs EUR 299 (US$ 315).
