Official: Micromax Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro with Mediatek Helio X10
Today Micromax announced two new smartphones at the company’s event in Gurgaon, India – the Micromax Canvas 6 and Canvas 6 Pro. Both devices are priced at Rs. 13,999 (US$ 210) and share most of the specs; however, there are slight differences.
Sporting a full metal body, the Micromax Canvas 6 features a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD), powered by the Octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 MT6795m processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space. For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for expansion.
On the rear, there is a front facing 8MP camera for selfies and video chats, the 13MP main camera with PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and LED flash; and fingerprint scanner. Connectivity options onboard include – Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and 4G LTE. The Canvas 6 packs Dual SIM slots (micro + nano), boots Android 5.1 (Lollipop) with Around UI and is backed by a 3000mAh battery.
The Micromax Canvas 6 Pro on its path goes with a polycarbonate body, skips the fingerprint scanner and has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The RAM has been bumped to 4GB but internal storage has dipped to 16GB built-in storage and the front camera to 5MP snapper with 85.7-degree wide-angle lens. Black is the only colour option compared to Gold of the Canvas 6.
Micromax also managed to announce a couple of other smartphones in the Bolt series and Canvas series, 4G LTE tablets wit 7 and 8 inch display and two new Smart LED TVs (40 and 50 inch).
