Qualcomm announce new SoCs – Snapdragon 625, 435 and 425
Qualcomm has announced three new chipsets – the Snapdragon 625, Snapdragon 435 and Snapdragon 425. All three incorporate advanced technologies and are designed to support better experiences, higher performance, and longer battery life.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 succeeds the Snapdragon 617, it is expected to consume lower power (up to 35% less than its predecessor) thereby enhancing battery life. Created using the 14nm process, it uses eight cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0+ GHz with Adreno 506 GPU, up to 24MP primary camera, support for Full HD and integrated X9 LTE modem.
Successor to the Snapdragon 430, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 keeps most of the features and specifications. It uses eight cortex-A53 cores clocked up to 1.4GHz with Adreno 505 GPU, up to 21MP camera, and Full HD display. It is the first in the series to integrate the X8 LTE modem with LTE Cat.7 speeds.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 brings a fresh air into the entry-point mid-tier offering from the company such as the Snapdragon 410 and 412. It uses four cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz with Adreno 308 GPU, up to 16MP camera and integrated X6 LTE modem with LTE Cat.4 speeds.
The trio processors – the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, Snapdragon 435 and Snapdragon 425 share similar features such as Qualcomm Quick Charge, 802.11ac Wi-Fi with MU-MIMO, Qualcomm RF360 front-end solutions , the Qualcomm Hexagon DSP (digital signal processor) and sensor hub meeting Android M sensor requirements.
