Popular Chinese device maker, Xiaomi is expected to debut its next flagship – the Xiaomi Mi 6, over the coming days in China. The successor to the Mi 5 & Mi 5S will reportedly not be subjected to a MWC launch like its predecessor, but will be made official at a special event in the home country.
While we don’t know if the brand will still showcase the device at the upcoming event, the Xiaomi Mi 6 Specs starts off with a Google Daydream VR headset compatible 5.2-inch display with a primary 1080p Full HD screen resolution and another model, a higher one with 1440p Quad HD screen resolution.
On the inside, the standard model packs 4GB of RAM & 64GB built-in storage, and relies on a high-end Qualcomm processor – could either the Snapdragon 823 or Snapdragon 821. Opting for the latter could see the Mi 6 use the same SoC as the Mi 5, Mi 5S, Mi MIX
, and the Mi Note 2
It should sport the usual metal and glass body material combo while the high-end/special version will use the ceramic body build and possibly pack more RAM (6GB). Both models will boot Android 7.0 Nougat OS with the latest MIUI ontop.
For photography, there is a rear facing 12MP camera with Sony IMX386 sensor (similar to the Meizu MX6) and a front 8MP selfie camera. There is no official confirmation or proof for these rumours so they had better be treated with the proverbial pinch of salt.
