Sharp Z2 Debuts in Taiwan with Deca-Core CPU, 4GB RAM and sub $300 Price Tag
About a week after the MTK6753 powered M1 announcement, Sharp has announced another smartphone in Taiwan, called the Sharp Z2 (Sharp Aquos Z2). The phablet device, which was earlier spotted on Benchmark, is powered by the Deca-Core Mediatek Helio X20 (MT6797) 64-bit processor clocked up to 2.3GHz and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.
Available in Gold or Silver colours, the Sharp Z2 (FS8002) sports a 5.5-inch LTPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (HD) screen resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It packs 4GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage space, USB Type-C port, Stereo speakers and Infrared Blaster.
In the camera aspect, there a rear facing 16MP camera with PDAF and Dual Tone LED flash while the front selfie camera is a 8MP snapper with f/1.8 aperture. Below the main camera sits the Fingerprint Sensor, which not only unlock the device but also serve as a camera shutter when taking photos.
Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G LTE (Cat.6 & LTE-A), Bluetooth 4.1 and Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. The Sharp Z2 is equipped with a 3000mAh battery aided by Mediatek’s Pump Express technology for fast charging. In the local market the device sells for TWD 8990 (US$ 274).
