Sony announce PlayStation 4 Pro and Slimmer Playstation 4
Sony has officially announced a two refreshed consoles – the PlayStation 4 Pro and a more Slimmer Playstation 4. The new high-end PS4 Pro will arrive on November 10 starting at $399 ($499.99 CAD) while the slimmer PS4 will arrive in September 15 starting at $299.99 USD ($379.99 CAD).

Codenamed Neo, the Sony PlayStation 4 Pro succeeds the almost three and half year old PlayStation 4 and brings a faster processor, better graphics, support for 4K resolution and High Dynamic Range (HDR).
The PS4 Pro is powered by an upgraded GPU and a faster CPU; and outputs 4K and HDR video. It will also arrive with a 1TB Hard Drive, improve the PlayStation VR experience and companies such as Netflix and YouTube are working on apps that support 4K.
Developers are already working on updating previous PS4 games to be compatible with the PS4 Pro while others are building PS4 Pro support into upcoming releases and further releases will have it built-in.
Slimmer, Lighter Sony Playstation 4
The new PlayStation 4 packs all the same hardware components as the base PS4 but it is now slimmer, sports a sleek body design and is more energy efficient. The volume has reduced to 30-percent, power consumption by 28-percent and volume reduced by 16-percent.
The new slim PS4 is Sony’s reply to Microsoft’s Xbox One S and also comes with a slightly updated version of the DualShock 4 controller.
