Tecno reportedly has a yet-to-be announced Boom Series smartphone – the Tecno Boom J5. The device is expected to follow the Tecno Boom J7 which has been praised for churning out quality listening experience.
Before I go in length about Tecno Boom J5 specs; the device has just 1GB of RAM which is a let down but the lure of Android Lollipop OS, Hi-Fi headphones and excellent stereo sound output should appeal to the audiophiles.
The company seems to have a thing for ‘1GB RAM’ as their two most recent phones – the camera-centric Camon C8 and Camon C5 (both with front facing flash) have just 1GB of RAM but run Android Lollipop and should appeal to the selfie takers.
Having said that, the Tecno Boom J5 features a 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA), powered by a quad-core Mediatek processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with 1GB RAM and 16GB space of internal storage.
Like most Tecno smartphones, it has a microSD card slot for storage expansion this time up to 32GB and supports Dual SIM functionality. On the back there is a 5MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies and video chats.
Connectivity options on the device includes – 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and HotKnot and sensor options includes – G-sensor, Light Sensor and Proximity Sensor.
The Tecno Boom J5 measures 132.8 x 68 x 9.5mm in dimensions, runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 1950mAh battery. It is priced at N17,500 and is available in Black, Blue, Gold and White Colour options.
