Verizon Offering Two New 4G LTE Android Wear 2.0 Smartwatches
Major US carrier, Verizon Wireless has announced it would carry two new LTE connected smartwatches with the latest OS from Google – Android Wear 2.0. Along with the LG Watch Sport ($329.99), the company is also offering an exclusive Wear24 smartwatch ($299.99).
Ahead of the LG Watch Style, the Watch Sport has a 1.38-inch P-OLED display, heart rate sensor, GPS for tracking and rotating power button crown for scrolling through streams, bring up the app launcher or get help from the Google Assistant. It also makes tap-to-pay purchases via Android Pay (NFC) and water resistant (withstand being submerged in up to five feet of water for up to 30 mins).
The Verizon-exclusive Wear24 also boots Android Wear 2.0 and water resistant (submerged in up to 3.3 feet of water for up to 30 mins). It makes and receive calls or text with or without a paired smartphone, and the watch faces can be customised to suit personal need – a modern look for the office and the social look for home.
The LG Watch Sport is currently available from Verizon (online and in stores) while the Wear24 will arrive in March through the same mediums. For the aforementioned prices, both arrive with new two-year activation. Adding a connected smartwatch to an existing Verizon Plan costs $5 monthly access, plus taxes & fees
