Vivo Y53 with Snapdragon 425, Funtouch OS 3.0 Debuts in Malaysia
Vivo Mobiles has listed up a new ‘Y Series‘ smartphone – the Vivo Y53 on its official website for Malaysia. The entry-level device boots Funtouch OS 3.0 based on the dated Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS and powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Adreno 308 GPU.
Priced at MYR 699 (USD 157), the Vivo Y53 is dressed in a full metal body build (unibody) in either Crown Gold or Space Gray colours, and sports a 5-inch display with a screen resolution of 960 x 540 pixels (qHD). It measures 144.2 x 71.4 x 7.64 mm in size, weighs 137 grams and backed by a 2500mAh battery.
The device packs Dual Nano SIM slots, 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space which is expandable up to 256GB via microSD. In the camera aspect, there is a rear facing 8MP camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash, alongside a front facing 5MP selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and front smart screen flash.
With the Ultra HD technology, consecutive images taken, can be combined enabling the camera render up to 32MP photos. Asides Malaysia, it also seems Vivo has plans to launch the Vivo Y53 in countries like Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand, Indonesia, India and the Philippines, as it supports 2G, 3G and 4G networks in these areas. Other connectivity options include – GPS/GLONASS/BeiDou, Bluetooth 4.2, micro USB 2.0 port and Wi-Fi.
