Yahoo debuts Mail app for Windows 10
Yahoo announced the Yahoo Mail app for Windows 10; the app comes with most of the features available on the browser-based version in a familiar interface. It is available worldwide on the Windows Store and is viable for any Windows 10 tablet or desktop computers including the Microsoft Surface.
In addition to all the major functions, there are now three ways to check new messages and notifications on the Yahoo Mail app and the settings can be changed in Windows Settings menu. (i) Count of messages show on the lock screen for users to see the need to login and check. (ii) the Yahoo mail app to be pinned to the start Menu to show snippets of latest emails (iii) Desktop notifications come up in real-time as the computer is in use to alert of new messages.
Another feature touted is the new compose feature which lets users add Files, Gifs, Photos and Web links to emails with just one click. The app also let users beautify emails with Stationery by Paperless Post and personalise the Inbox with themes from Flickr
To make things easier, Yahoo Mail should be set as the default app for sending mails and being a Windows app, it can be accessed using the Task Bar or the much popular ‘Alt + Tab’ shortcut. The Yahoo Mail app for Windows 10 is available on the Windows Store for download.
