1.) You can write on it with a pencil – The touch sensor on the Galaxy S5 is very sensitive, so sensitive that it detects when you are swiping, tapping or writing on it with a Pencil. All you need do is go to settings and increase the device’s touch sensitivity.
2.) Tilt to Make a Playlist – Whenever you are in the mood for good music, on the Galaxy S5 you can tilt the phone horizontally while listening to a song via the music player, and the phone will select similar songs stored on the device with information based on the current genre, mood, source etc. So instead of your music shuffling to dissimilar songs, once you tilt your phone similar songs come up.
3.) Using Toolbox to Create a Bookmark for Favourite Apps – a floating menu called toolbox gives you access to favourite apps from any screen. It acts as a mini folder or app drawer, once you place your favorite application here, you will be able to access them quickly anywhere you need them. You can access toolbox from the swipe down menu on the status bar or go to setting and tap toolbox.
By pressing and holding the icon down and drag it to the edit button, so you can access the apps from the floating toolbox menu.
4.) The Galaxy S5 Comes With A Privacy Mode – Most of us have that message, video, picture, voice mails and other folders on our phone that we will like to only share with our self and nobody else. The Galaxy S5 has a privacy mode which makes hiding files, documents or folders easy and these files only become accessible by a certain set unlock pattern.
You can access privacy mode in the settings, select the files you want to hide, whoever has access to these files would not be able to see it until the unlock pattern, pin code is inserted.
5.) Enable Camera from Locked Screen – You can access the camera from the locked screen by just swiping the camera icon to the side. Once this is done, it goes straight into camera mode and you can quickly capture that perfect moment you want to.
6.) The Galaxy S5 Comes with a Kids Mode – Well apart from nosy friends and colleagues who like to check our phone, we also have kiddies who think our device is a toy (a very expensive toy in this case). On the S5you can download the kids mode app, this turn the device into a children-friendly interface for kids.
It features a simplified interface which easy design which kids can navigate, special applications for kids, set application permission with parental control.
7.) Virtual Tour, Shot and More Mode – Two new features has been added to the Galaxy S5 shooting mode – the virtual mode and the shot and more mode. The virtual tour mode allows users to take moving pictures like a gif image. Shots and more allows you to edit pictures and add several effects to it immediately after you take the pics.
8.) Check Caller information while you are talking on the phone – The Galaxy S5 smartphone allows you to check caller’s information while you make calls, receive calls and even when you are on the phone. This feature shows all the communication you have had with them both calls, emails, and social interaction (Google +).
9.) Call Notification Pop Up – Galaxy S5 supports call notification functionality which enables user to receive phone calls while using other applications without having to quit that application.
10.) You can set priority contacts with ‘Priority Senders’ – Top people (Twenty-Five (25) people) you message the most, so you can have easier access to those you reach out to.
