OnePlus has taken the wraps off the OnePlus 2, the successor to the highly successful OnePlus One smartphone. The device which is dubbed as the 2016 Flagship Killer is a much incremental update over its predecessor.
The OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch In-Cell IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 600nits brightness, 1500:1 Aspect ratio and an aluminium body frame. The fingerprint sensor is embedded into the home button and the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.
The are capacitive home buttons below the display and there are on-screen touch buttons too. Under the hood it is powered by the redesigned Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 clocked at 1.8GHz paired with Adreno 430 GPU.
It comes in two RAM and storage variants – a version with 3GB RAM and 16GB storage space and another with 4GB of RAM and 64GB space of internal storage. Just like the OnePlus One there is no microSD card slot.
The device ships stock looking OxygenOS 2.0 out-of-the-box which is based on Android Lollipop OS, supports Dual SIM (Nano SIM) slots which are both carrier unlocked and is backed by a built-in 3300mAh battery.
On the back, there is a 13MP camera f/2.0 camera with Dual LED flash and 6 physical lens; the front camera is a 5MP snapper for selfies.
The back cover of the OnePlus 2 with Sandstone finish is replaceable and there are option style swap covers such as Black Apricot, Bamboo, Kevlar and Rosewood.
It has no support for NFC which means features like Android Pay are out of question, however it supports 4G LTE and uses the reversible USB Type-C connector.
