‎Samsung has released the official teaser for the ‎2016 Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event which will happen a day before the Mobile World Congress 2016 (MWC 2016) commences in Barcelona, Spain. The teaser reads as follows, “… Get ready to rethink what a phone can do. #TheNextGalaxy.”

There is no doubt #TheNextGalaxy is the Samsung Galaxy S7 which would be accompanied by the phablet sized Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The Galaxy Unpacked event is the company’s way of introducing the next Galaxy flagship at the MWC – the Galaxy S5 at the MWC 2014 and Galaxy S6 at the MWC 2016.

The Galaxy S7 is expected to sport a 5.1-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) QHD Super AMOLED display, powered by either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or the Exynos 8890 SoC along with 4GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB built-in storage and backed by a 3000mAh battery.

The device would use the 12MP BRITCELL Camera and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with TouchWIZ UI ontop. ‎The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge on its part, is expected to sport a bigger 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD) screen resolution. ‎

Some other sources believe the Galaxy S7 will make use of fast charging technology (the battery goes from 0% to 100% in about 100 minutes or from 0% to 50% in 25 minutes). The unknown battery capacity will also be able to last up to 17 hours of video playback time.

Samsung is expected to return the dropped specs on the Galaxy S6 from the Galaxy S5 such as the microSD card slot or maybe the IP67 certification (waterproof and dustproof). We look forward to the event for more details on the two flagships.
