Getac has announced the 2nd generation of the Getac F110 rugged tablet and V110 rugged convertible notebook which would be powered by a range of 5th generation Intel Broadwell processors. The tablet continues to run Windows 8.1 Pro and comes with the necessary rugged ratings.
Moving to the specs, the 2nd Gen Getac F110 Rugged Tablet sports a 11.6-inch (1366 X 768 pixels) resolution display with LumiBond 2.0 glove capable touchscreen. The 2nd Gen Getac V110 convertible notebook which can also double as a tablet, on the other hand sports a 11.6-inch display with a full size waterproof baclit keyboard. The former weighs 1.36Kg and measures 304.8 x 203.2 x 25mm in dimensions while the latter weighs 1.8Kg and mesures 304.8 x 228.6 x 33mm in dimensions.
Both tablets are now powered by Intel Broadwell SoC for faster speed and efficiency – the Intel Core i5-5200U (2.2GHz), i5-5300U (2.3GHz with vPro Technology), i7-5500U (2.4GHz) or i7-5600U (2.6GHz with vPro Technology) with Intel Boost technology. Each SoC clocks up to 2.7GHz, 2.9GHz, 3.0GHz and 3.2GHz respectively. The processors are paired with Intel HD Graphics 5500 GPU paired and 4GB or 8GB DDRL3 RAM.
Internal storage options on the tablet includes – 128GB – 286GB Solid State Drive storage. Handling photography on the slate is a main 8MP rear camera paired with a front facing 1.3MP camera. Connectivity options on the device includes – USB 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and GPS.
Both the 2nd Gen Getac F110 rugged tablet and 2nd Gen V110 rugged convertible are MIL-STD-810G, IP65 and MIL-STD-461F certified; they also come with hot-swappable batteries which allows changing the batteries of the device without shutting down. The V110 batteries provide 13 hours of usage and the F110 provides 12 hours of usage.
