About a year after, Xiaomi has deemed it fit to launch a not-so smaller model of the 49-inch Mi TV 2; this model is the 40-inch model which would cost a price equivalent to around $322 (CNY 1999). It would be available officially from March 31st on Xiaomi website.
The 49-inch model of the Xiaomi Mi TV 2 gained popular attention from fans due to its 4K display support and ran on Android OS based MIUI TV OS; the 40-inch model this time around has a Full HD display and run the same OS.
Moving to the full specs of the Television, the 40-inch Mi TV 2 from Xiaomi sports a 40-inch SHARP SDP X-GEN display panel with full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution with 5000:1 contrast ratio and LED Backlight mode. Under the hood; there is a MStar 6A908 Cortex-A9 quad-core 1.45GHz CPU paired with Mali-450 MP4 GPU alongside 1.5GB DDR3 RAM and 8GB space of internal storage.
It measures 14mm thin around the bezels and supports H.265 10-bit hardware decoding and video decoding with H.265, H.264, MPEG4, REA. It also supports such as RM, FLV, MOV, AVI, MKV, TS, MP4. It runs on the MIUI TV OS which is based on Android.
Overall, when you look at the 40-inch and 49-inch models of the Xiaomi Mi TV 2 they both offer quality output with their Full HD and 4K display respectively; but as expected only users in the China have the only realistic chances of getting the Television. Xiaomi promised it would bring the MI TV to India; hopefully all other models of the TV would get into the country too.
