Indian smartphone and tablet maker, iBall has announced a new smartphone – the iBall mSLR Cobalt4 in the company’s Cobalt series of devices. The entry-level spec(ced) device is priced at Rs 8499 ($133) and is bundled with a free pouch plus cleaning cloth for the camera lens.
The main talking point about the iBall mSLR Cobalt4 is that the smartphone comes with not just one but four removable camera lenses which can be attached and detached at will. The four lenses includes – a wide angle lens with 130-degree viewing angle, a fish-eye lens with 175 to180-degree viewing lens, a zoom lens with 8x zoom and a 10x magnification and minimum object distance of 10 to 15mm.
Moving to the specs, the sub-$150 priced iBall mSLR Cobalt4 features a 5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD display, powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space. To expand storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
On the rear there is a 8MP AutoFocuscamera with Dual LED flash and a front facing 3.2MP camera with LED flash. Unsurprisingly, it doesn’t support 4G LTE, however, the following connectivity options are available – GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and 3G HSPA+.
It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS, supports Dual SIM functionality and is backed by a 2000mAh battery. The planned rollout of the iBall mSLR Cobalt4 in India would be in phases.
