5-inch Xolo 8X-1000 with Octa-Core processor and HIVE Custom UI Launched

XOLO has officially announced the Xolo 8X-1000 smartphone with the company’s new HIVE UI and an octa-core Mediatek processor. Apparently the Xolo 8X-1000 has been announced to rival the Xiaomi Mi 3 but flagship smartphone from the ‘Apple of China’ would not feel threatened.

The company’s New HIVE UI is based on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and brings exciting features. Like Xiaomi’s MIUI, the HIVE UI features a new launcher, widgets, customised system apps that offer additional features, customised UI elements including themes and the ability to connect to Xolo’s software development team for feedback.

The Xolo 8X-1000 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with ASAHI Dragontrail glass protection. Under the hood is a octa-core MediaTek MT6592M processor clocked at 1.4GHz with Mali 450-MP4 GPU and 2GB of RAM. There is a 16GB internal storage and micro SD card slot for expansion.

On the rear of the Xolo 8X-1000 is a 8MP camera with LED flash, EXMOR R sensor, capable of 1080p video recording and a 2MP front-facing camera for video chats and selfies. In terms of connectivity options, the device supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS and 3G HSPA+.

The Back panel of the device is protected by corning Gorilla Glass 3 and a 1920mAh battery powers the device.
