Touted as the thinnest or one of the thinnest smartphone around, the Gionee S5.5 measures just 5.5mm in thickness. Well that record won’t last long as another smartphone from Gionee – the Gionee GN9005 has been spotted on Chinese certification website TENAA measuring just 5mm thin.
The Gionee GN9005 according to the listing would feature a 4.5-inch AMOLED display with (1280 x 720 pixels) HD resolution and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 128GB.
For photography, there is a front facing 5-megapixels camera for video chats and a rear facing 8-megapixels camera with LED flash. Connectivity options on the device includes – 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS and micro USB 2.0 port.
The Gionee GN9005 measures 139.8 x 67.4 x 5.0 mm in dimensions, weighs less than 100 grams in size (94.6 grams actually) and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS out of the box. The Dual SIM enabled device is backed by a 2050mAh battery but there is no official word on neither pricing nor availability.
