Dell has at long last released the Dell Venue 8 7000 tablet; it was first showed off at the IDF 2014 in September and we also saw the tablet make a visit to the FCC in the US. The device would be available in the US and Canada for $399 on Dell.com or Bestbuy stores. It would also be available in Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, UK, Germany and India by Ealry 2015.
The Dell Venue 8 7000 is the thinnest tablet around at just 6mm thin and the very well designed tablet is the first to feature Intel’s Real Sense 3D camera. The rear 8MP camera as well as two other stereoscopic sensors make up the Intel new RealSense Snapshot Depth Camera.
The tablet features a 8.4-inch QHD 2,560 x 1,600 OLED edge-to-edge display , powered by a 2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Atom, 2GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. The Dell Venue 8 7000 currently runs Android 4.4 Kitkat OS but the company promises an upgrade to Android Lollipop OS in the nearest future.
An LTE version of the tablet is expected to arrive soon. The tablet was much more brought into the limelight when Apple declared the iPad Air 2 (6.1mm thin) as the thinnest tablet in the world.
