iBall has announced the iBall Slide i701 Windows tablet; the device is dubbed the ‘world’s most economical Windows tablet’ and costs INR 4999 (around $90). It is expected to be available across leading retail stores as well as online e-commerce platforms.
iBall is also throwing in some perks with the tablet; first – it would come with an autograph signed on the rear by the company’s brand ambassador – Kareena Kapoor, three interchangeable protective covers (INR 599) and free HDMI cable (Rs 699).
The iBall Slide i701 sports a 7-inch HD IPS display, powered by a quad-core Intel Atom Bay Trail processor clocked at 1.33GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB).
On the rear, there is a 2MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 0.3MPp (VGA) camera. connectivity options on the tablet includes USB OTG, HDMI port, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth. 3G connectivity can be achieved via a USB dongle. Overall, the tablet is backed by a 3200mAh battery.
The iBall Slide i701 is upgradable to Windows 10 when it commercially becomes available but currently runs Windows 8.1 OS out-of-the-box. Microsoft has also thrown in free 1TB of OneDrive Cloud storage and a year of free Microsoft Office subscription.
