The line separating phablets and tablets have been blurred on some occasions, and a prime example of such is the Philips S711L. The 7-inch device qualifies as a tablet due to its sizeable display (7-inch upwards) and also as a phablet, because it will perform the duties of a phone.
The Philips S711L Phablet/Tablet have been certified by China’s TENAA for the Chinese market and key details of the device has been revealed. It has a 7-inch 1920 x 1200 pixels (WUXGA) IPS display, an octa-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz (which more likely Mediatek than Qualcomm) along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space.
The device measures 184.5 x 107.3 x 8.5 mm in dimensions which is fairly compact and at 260 grams, it is slightly heavy but then a possible good news is it could be carrying a large capacity battery. In the camera aspect, there is a rear facing 13-megapixel camera with LED Flash and a front facing 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats.
For additional storage space, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 64GB. The Philips S711L supports standard connectivity options as well as 4G LTE connectivity and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box.
