Samsung has launched a 7-inch phone/phablet in Korea, the Samsung Galaxy W is said to be the biggest phone from the south korean company. The Galaxy W is not a new flagship device from Samsung but like the company did with the Samsung Mega series (5.8-inch and 6.3-inch models); it is bridging the gap between phones and tablets.
The Samsung Galaxy W features a 7-inch 1280 x 720 pixels resolution HD display, powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage (expandable up to 64GB with micro SD card support), 8MP front facing camera with LED Flash, 2MP front facing camera for video calling.
The Samsung Galaxy W measures 191.8 x 99.6 x 8.8 mm, weighs 245g and runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS. The device supports the usual connectivity option including LTE-A support. Other value added features includes – Pop-up play, Split screen, Multi-window view, Landscape mode.
The Samsung Galaxy W sports a faux leather coating like the ones seen on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 flagship. The device is powered by a 3200mAh battery which offers enough time of general usage.
Pricing and Availability
The Samsung Galaxy W is set to be available in Black, Red and White colour variants and would launch in its home country – South Korea for 499,400 won ($487 or ₦79,000). There is no official announcement on Its availability in other markets.
