Toshiba has introduced two new Windows 8.1 tablets into the Encore 2 Range. Both versions of the Encore 2 Tablet (8-inch and 10-inch) would run on the recently announced Windows 8.1 with Bing version. The 8-inch Encore 2 tablet weighs around 367g while the 10-inch Encore 2 tablet weighs 548g.
The 8-inch and the 10-inch Encore 2 tablet both feature the same. screen resolution with a (1280×800 pixel) resolution multi-touch display. Both device also feature 5MP rear camera – capable of capturing HD videos and 1.2MP front facing HD camera.
Both Encore 2 Tablets is powered by a Intel’s quad-core Atom Z3735F processor (Bay Trail-T with Silvermont microarchitecture) clocked at 1.3GHz. Both device sports a 32GB of internal storage, which can be configured up to 64GB and expandable up to 128GB with Micro SDXC card support.
Apart from the screen size, another difference is that the 8-inch Encore 2 tablet features 1GB of RAM and the 10-inch Encore 2 Tablet features 2GB of RAM. Connectivity options spotted on both tablets includes Wi-Fi and Micro-USB 2.0 connectivity options.
In terms of the battery capacity, both Encore 2 Tablets is expected to last 8.5 hours of use on a single charge.
The 8-inch Toshiba Encore 2 Windows tablet is priced at $199 (around N33,000 in Naira) and $269 (around N44,000 in Naira); both tablets are set for Early July debut in the US.
