It is no hidden fact that Samsung already has two tablet offering in the Galaxy Tab A Series; and it looks likely that the company is readying two tablets also in the Galaxy Tab S series. This new Samsung Galaxy Tab S series is said to take on Apple’s iPad series with the iPad Air 2 in mind; based on their slim body profile and lightweight body.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S would come in two models – the 8-inch version and the 9.7-inch version. The 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S goes with the model number – SM-T710 and the 9.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S with the model number – SM-T810.
Both models have basically the same specs with the exception being the screen sizes and batteries capacity – the former has a 8-inch display size with 3580mAh battery and the latter has a 9.7-inch display size with 5870mAh battery.
Both slates uses the Super AMOLED display with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution and has 4:3 screen ratio. It is powered by the Exynos 5433 processor but could be upgraded to the Exynos 7420 by the time it launches.
Other specs details includes – Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS, front 2.1MP facing camera, main 8MP camera, 3GB of RAM, 32GB space of internal storage and a microSD slot. There would be standard connectivity suite on the slate as well as 4G LTE (Cat. 6 support – which allows theoretical 300Mbps download speed).
Both the 8-inch and 9.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab S would measure 5.4mm thin with other dimensions different (198.2 x 134.5 mm on the 8-inch model and 237.1 x 168.8 mm on the 9.7-inch model). They weigh 260 and 407grams respectively and has some metal in the body build-up to give it a premium look.
All these details would be confirmed when both tablets are announced.
