$82 priced Samsung Galaxy V Plus is a new low-end smartphone for Malaysia

Samsung has updated it’s low-end smartphone category line with the Samsung Galaxy V Plus smartphone.

The Galaxy V Plus is the successor to the Samsung Galaxy V; it would reportedly be available only in Malaysia with a price tag of $82 and is available in Classic White and Black colour options.

Moving to the specs, the Samsung Galaxy V Plus features a 4-inch TFT display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) and is powered by a Dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with 512MB of RAM, and 2GB space of internal storage.

That small amount of internal storage won’t do, so there is a microSD card slot onboard for storage expansion (up to 64GB). On the rear, there is a 3MP camera with LED flash and a front facing 0.3MP (VGA) camera for selfies. Asides 3G connectivity, the Galaxy V Plus also has Dual SIM slots, Bluetooth, GPS, GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Wi-Fi Direct. The only listed sensor is Accelerometer.

The Samsung Galaxy V Plus measures 121.4 x 62.9 x 10.7 mm in dimensions, weighs 123 grams and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with the company’s proprietary UI – TouchWiz on-top. The device is backed by a removable 1500mAh battery which should last hours due to the non-demanding nature of its specs.
