The Samsung Galaxy A8 (SM-A8000) would run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and supports 4G LTE connectivity. The dimensions of the device stands at 157.7 x 76.7 x 5.9mm, it weighs around 140 grams, and is backed by a 3050mAh battery.

One bone of contention has to be the screen size, an earlier supposed specs listing suggests a 5.7-inch display while the GFXBench listing says it is a 5.5-inch display. A 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display is confirmed for the device and the resolution is (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 is expected to inherit a design which is a mixture of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S6 smartphone and the Galaxy A series of devices with its metal frame. The device has very slim bezels around both sides but the bottom the Bezel is very much present as there is a bigger Home button which would incorporate fingerprint authentication.

Under the hood, it would be powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor (64 bit) paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB). On the rear there is a 16MP camera and front 5MP camera for the selfie lovers.

There is no word on the official pricing and availability of the Samsung Galaxy A8 at the moment nor has the smartphone gone official.
