ZTE to announce the Nubia Z9S with LTE Cat.9 connectivity on June 30

ZTE is reportedly launching an updated version of its flagship Nubia Z9, called the ZTE Nubia Z9S on June 30. The bezel-less smartphone which was announced in May is now expected to come with improved LTE connectivity support.

An image of the ZTE Nubia Z9S (or Nubia Z9 with LTE Cat.9 connectivity support) has surfaced showing the device with a download speed of 247.52Mbps and an upload speed of 30.74Mbps. Theoretically the LTE Cat.9 can reach a download speed of 450Mbps but in real life scenarios it stops at 330Mpbs and that is even if the carrier supports that kind of transfer rate.

The original ZTE Nubia Z9 supports LTE Cat.4 connectivity despite the fact that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor present on it having a X10 LTE modem that is compatible with LTE Cat.9.

Asides the mention of an upgraded connectivity, it would be surprising it ZTE does not add some hardware changes to add more allure to the device since it just launch last month. There is no official word on the existence of the ZTE Nubia Z9S so we just have to wait until June 30th.

Talking about June 30th, that days seems to be a busy days for major Chinese manufacturers as Meizu is expected to announce the Meizu MX5 (or/and maybe the Meizu M2) and Huawei would take the covers off the Huawei Honor 7 (and maybe a Honor 7 Plus). It looks like ZTE wants to join in the Chinese party at least.
