Microsoft Launch the Lumia 540 Dual SIM in Kenya

Microsoft this week announced the launch of the Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM in Kenya. The 5-inch sized smartphone is priced at Ksh 17,800 (around $180) in the country and is upgradable to Windows 10 OS for mobile once it is available commercially.

The Redmond giant continues its #Achievemoreconsumer campaign which allows anybody who owns a Lumia phone or potential buyers of any Lumia smartphone including the Lumia 540 Dual SIM to send their IMEI number through text to 22860. 

The promo is valid through July 7th 2015 and those who participate stand a chance to win any of the 40 Lumia 640XL smartphones or Five Cheverolet Cruze cars. Winners will be contacted via +254 2301641 and announced on the Lumia EastAfrica Facebook and Twitter pages.

Moving to the specs, the Lumia 540 Dual SIM features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128Gb) and Microsoft is offering up to 30GB free OneDrive cloud storage. 

Others includes – a 8MP rear facing AutoFocus camera with LED flash, a front facing 5MP camera for selfies, runs Windows Phone 8.1 OS with Lumia Denim update and is backed by a 2200mAh battery. Measuring 144 x 73.69 x 9.35 mm in dimensions and weighing 152 grams; the Microsoft Lumia 540 Dual SIM is one to consider if you are in the market for a Windows Phone.
