Budget oriented Oppo Joy 3 smartphone with ColorOS 2.0 announced

Oppo Mobile has listed the Oppo Joy 3 smartphone online on its official website. The device is expected to succeed the Oppo Joy Plus which launched earlier this year.

The Oppo Joy 3 has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA IPS TFT display, has a metal looking silver frame and a smooth texture rear cover. Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3Ghz paired with Mali 400 MP2 GPU, 1GB of RAM and a minimal 4GB space of internal storage.

Thankfully, there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB) and has Dual SIM slots with Dual Standby but each SIM must be using different bands for it to operate properly i.e 3G on one and 2G on the other. On the rear, there is a 5MP main camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies.

The main camera can record HD videos and has features options such as HDR, Panorama, Beautify, and other features such as Audio Photo which lets you capture photos with sound and animations; Double Exposure and taking photos in burst mode to create a Gif file.

Connectivity options on the Oppo Joy 3 includes – 3G, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, USB OTG, GPS and Bluetooth. It measures 132.8 x 66.6 x 8.95mm in dimensions, weighs 135 grams and runs on ColorOS 2.0 (based on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS) which comes with added features such as Smart Call, Screen-On Gesture and Screen-Off Gesture.

A removable 2000mAh Li-Po battery provide the much needed backing by some hours. The Oppo Joy 3 is available in Classic White and Matte Grey colour options. There is no word on pricing and availability details.
