Asus Pegasus 2 Plus with up to 3GB of RAM and Android Lollipop OS listed ahead of release

ASUS is expected to announce the Asus Pegasus 2 Plus in an event on July 4 (which is today) in China. The phablet sized device was showed off at the 2015 Tianyi Terminal Trade Fair and Forum at the Naijing International Expo Center, would made available by China Telecom.

While the device is yet to be announced for now, this hasn’t stopped the images as well as the expected specs of the phablet from surfacing. According to chinese media, the Asus Pegasus 2 Plus has the model name – Asus_X550 and would slot into the pegasus series of devices and succeed the Asus Pegasus which was released late last year. 

Moving to the specs, the Asus Pegasus 2 Plus sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels)  FHD LCD display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz with Adreno 405 GPU. There would be two RAM/ROM options to choose from – a lesser version with 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage; the higher model will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage.

The primary camera is a 13MP rear facing camera with CMOS image sensor and the secondary camera is a 8MP snapper with CMOS image sensor. The Asus Pegasus runs on the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. China Telecom is expected to start selling the Asus Pegasus 2 Plus by late July or early August and the price tag is earmarked to be around CNY 2000 ($320).
