QMobile A1: Android One launches in Pakistan

Google has partnered with QMobile Pakistan to launch the first Android One smartphone in Pakistan – the QMobile A1. As the search giant continues to expand its Android One program into more territories, it has landed in Pakistan which becomes the 9th country to get the program.

The QMobile A1 (QMobile Android One) runs the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box and has almost the same specs as most of the Android One smartphones around and would be receiving software updates directly from Google as soon as they are available for some time to come.

Other key specs of the smartphone includes a 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The chipset is paired with 1GB of RAM and has 8GB space of internal storage.

There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB). On the rear, there is a 5MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 2MP camera. Connectivity options on the QMobile A1 includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS/aGPS, FM Radio and 3G. 

It supports Dual SIM slots, measures 132 x 67.9 x 9.15mm in dimensions, and is backed by a 1700mAh battery. The QMobile A1 is available through local retail stores and the recommended retail price is PKR 11,500 which is equivalent to around $113.
