Budget Zen Ultrafone Sonic 1 smartphone with 2GB RAM and Android 5.0 Lollipop OS

Zen Mobile has launched the Zen Ultrafone Sonic 1; an impressive budget smartphone which has 2GB of RAM on board and will run Android Lollipop OS from the onset. The smartphone is already selling on eBay India for Rs 5999 ($94) in Black colour only and shipping is expected to start on July 15th.

The Zen Ultrafone Sonic 1 features a 5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 178-degrees viewing angle. Under the hood, it is powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz paired with Adreno 306 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 32GB). 

The Dual SIM enabled (GSM + 3G WCDMA) smartphone has a rear facing 5MP camera with LED and a front facing 2MP camera for selfies. Asides 3G, other connectivity options on the device includes – Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Hotspot and micro USB 2.0. 

Sensor options includes –  Proximity Sensor, Gravitation Sensor and Light Sensor. Measuring141x 70 x 8.2mm in dimensions, the Zen Ultrafone Sonic 1 weighs 128 grams, runs Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 2000mAh battery which is expected to provide 264 hours of standby time. 

It also comes with features such as CLONEit and SYNCit, the former allows you transfer all old data instantly to a new Zen Mobile smartphone while the latter allows you back up all calls logs, contacts and SMS messages.
