Samsung has released its widely anticipated latest flagship model the Galaxy S5 has gone on sales in over 150 countries including the US, UK, India, Nigeria and Australia. The Samsung Galaxy S5 was launched alongside Samsung wearables – Samsung Gear 2, Samsung Gear Neo and Samsung Gear Fit will be on sales around the world.
Announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1 inch super AMOLED display, 16MP rear camera, the ability to combine 4G and Wi-Fi for ultra-fast downloads, dust & water resistant, fitness rate tracking features and a finger print scanner which serves as identification for online shopping purposes.
Launched only 11 months after its predecessor, Samsung would be hoping the Galaxy S5 performs well in the market after the company announced it expected a slight decline in its profit for the second financial quarter in a row.
PRICING AND AVAILABILITY
The Samsung Galaxy S5 would be available today (11/04/14) throughout all Samsung partner stores in Nigeria, Telecommunication companies with prior agreements with Samsung as well as online stores like Jumia, Konga and more.
Other new members of the wearable devices – Gear Fit, Gear Neo and Gear 2 will be available as from Monday (14/04/14) all around Nigeria.
In a statement released by a representative of Samsung, a formal presentation of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and other devices in West African Markets has been slated for Wednesday, 14th April at the Intercontinental hotel in Lagos.
The Samsung Galaxy S5’s price range is between N113, 000 and N125, 000.
