The Apple of China, Xiaomi has teased a image with product announcement date on its official Weibo account. The image only depicts PK with a slim metal frame which allegedly belongs to a product visible in the middle.
It is either Xiaomi is ready to announce the next gen Mi flagship smartphones – Xiaomi Mi5 and Xiaomi Mi5 Plus; or the company is ready to take the wraps off the Redmi Note 2 or we are dealing with a new MiPad tablet.
The Xiaomi Mi5 and the bigger Mi5 Plus is looking more probable as the Xiaomi Mi4 was announced around this time last year. The company could surprise us altogether by announce an entirely different product.
While we have to wait till Thursday to confirm the whatever is going to be launch; the Xiaomi Mi5 Plus has been spotted on TENAA listing with most of its specs confirmed.
The Mi5 Plus is expected to have a 5.7-inch QHD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM, 32GB space of internal storage, 13MP front camera, 23MP rear camera, Android Lollipop OS and 3500mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Mi5 on its part sticks with a 5.2-inch QHD display with 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection; Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 16MP rear camera with OIS, Android Lollipop OS, 4GB of RAM and would be backed by a 3000mAh battery.
