The Oukitel U6 will be looking to challenge the Yotaphone series of smartphone – the Yotaphone and Yotaphone 2, which are unarguably the pioneers of smartphones with dual display. The rear display which is always-on serves various purposes – it saves battery life, brings relevant informations amongst other uses.

Like the YotaPhone 2, the Oukitel U6 has a front 5-inch display and a rear 4.7-inch e-ink display. The device is expected to be powered by the Deca-core (10-core) MediaTek Helio X20 MT6797 SoC with ARM Mali-T800 GPU and would run on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS from the box.

The Oukitel U6 is expected to enter mass production by August so we should probably see a release by the latter part of August or September. There is no word on a lot of features such as the display resolution, the camera, how much ROM and RAM, the battery and other informations including the pricing.

Oukitel has been garnering media attention ever since it announced the Oukitel K10000 – a smartphone with a battery capacity of 10000mAh and not long ago the company announced the its next flagship – the Oukitel U9 which delivers amazing specs for just 200 bucks.
